A Grown-Up Halloween Night at Mercy Kitchen and Pamplona |
Two Lafayette restaurants turn dinner into a seasonal outing, with themed drinks, decorations and practical booking details. |

Halloween in Lafayette does not have to mean a haunted-house line or another bowl of candy at home. Two local restaurants are building a night out around the season, pairing their regular food with decorations, themed drinks and a little theatrical fun.
Mercy Kitchen: a seasonal dinner on Verot School Road
At Mercy Kitchen, 1312 Verot School Road, the Halloween treatment reaches beyond the bar. The restaurant’s outdoor decorations and vintage truck give diners a place to take seasonal photos, while outdoor seating offers another way to enjoy the atmosphere.
According to The Advocate’s October 5 report, Mercy is keeping its regular menu available during the festivities. That means diners can choose burgers, salads, power bowls, shareable dishes, handhelds or entrees rather than having to build the evening around drinks alone.
The specialty cocktail lineup includes Cousin It, a combination of mezcal, reposado tequila, spiced pear, ginger and lime, and Corpse Bride, made with gin, blue curaçao, lemon and absinthe. Other seasonal choices use matcha, citrus or coconut rum.
Halloween-themed mocktails are part of the offerings too. For a group with different drinking preferences, that makes the holiday theme easier to share without everyone ordering alcohol.
Manager Rene Dominique told The Advocate that families are welcome, even though dinner often draws adults marking dates and special occasions. Mercy’s experience therefore offers a different fit from a strictly adult-oriented Halloween outing.
The restaurant plans a DJ on October 31 from 6 to 9 p.m., and its seasonal festivities are scheduled to continue through November 2. Reservations are encouraged; the published reservation number is (337) 345-1123. Ask about current availability and the day’s seasonal menu when booking.
Pamplona: Nightmare on Jefferson Street
Downtown, Pamplona Tapas Bar at 631 Jefferson Street turns its dining room into Nightmare on Jefferson Street. Its official page describes an immersive Halloween pop-up with elaborate decorations, themed music and specialty cocktails.
The Advocate reports costumed employees, themed drinks and mocktail options alongside tapas and entrees. The point is to make the setting part of dinner, rather than treat Halloween as a single special on the menu.
Pamplona’s official FAQ says the pop-up runs through November 1, with service six nights a week from 4:30 to 11 p.m. and Mondays closed. Its page separately says the Halloween cocktails are available in October, so guests booking a November visit should confirm the drink selection.
The venue describes Nightmare as designed for adults. Although children are not prohibited, Pamplona advises that the costumes, imagery, themes and music may be inappropriate for them, particularly later in the evening.
Check the booking details before you go
Pamplona requires online reservations and confirmation. Its published policies include a nonrefundable $5-per-person booking fee that is not credited to the meal, a two-hour table limit and a 20% gratuity on checks. Those details are worth reviewing before organizing a group.
Use Pamplona’s official website for booking and current restaurant information. For either stop, confirm hours, menu choices and any special-event changes directly before heading out.
Whether the plan is a relaxed seasonal meal or a more theatrical downtown dinner, these two options give Lafayette diners a way to celebrate Halloween around the table. |
