Buc-ee’s Lafayette Breaks Ground November 9 |
The 74,000-square-foot travel center is planned for Louisiana Avenue at I-10 |

Buc-ee’s is taking its next major step toward opening in Lafayette, with a groundbreaking ceremony planned for November 9.
The new travel center is planned for the northeast corner of Louisiana Avenue and I-10, giving the brand a highly visible location along one of Acadiana’s busiest interstate corridors.
Plans call for a 74,000-square-foot store, making the project a substantial addition to Lafayette’s growing north-side business landscape.
The development is reported to represent an investment of about $72.5 million.
Construction is expected to put Lafayette on the map as one of Buc-ee’s first Louisiana markets.
Founder and CEO Arch “Beaver” Aplin is expected to attend the groundbreaking ceremony.
The Lafayette store is one of two Buc-ee’s locations currently planned for Louisiana, alongside a project in Ruston.
No firm opening date has been announced, although current reports point to completion in early 2028.
For Lafayette residents and travelers along I-10, the November groundbreaking will mark the first visible step toward the long-anticipated arrival. |
