Corner Pantry is back in Lafayette with a new address and a renewed focus on food and catering.

Corner Pantry Catering by Connie opened October 12 at 203 Winchester Drive, in the former Domino’s space just off Congress Street.

Connie DuBose and her family are behind the operation, which brings back the familiar name without returning to the grocery-store format some longtime customers may remember.

This version of Corner Pantry is centered on prepared food.

The menu includes plate lunches, boudin, chili dogs, burgers, gumbo and cold plates, giving customers a mix of quick bites and classic comfort meals.

Early risers can stop in for hot boudin and chili dogs beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Weekday lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, and pickup is available until 4 p.m.

Those hours make the location useful for nearby workers as well as customers who want to grab dinner components before heading home.

Catering is a major part of the business and not simply an add-on.

The team can handle weddings and other gatherings with as many as 400 guests, drawing on DuBose’s experience feeding groups throughout Acadiana.

The Winchester Drive location gives Corner Pantry a base for daily service while supporting that larger event work.

Customers should note that the reopened business does not operate as a grocery store.

Instead, the emphasis is on meals, takeout and catering orders prepared by a local family with an established following.

For Lafayette diners, the reopening adds another independent lunch option in the Congress Street area.

For former Corner Pantry customers, it is a chance to reconnect with a familiar name and see how the business has evolved.

The Winchester location will be convenient, and those early boudin hours are a nice touch.

Happy to see Corner Pantry back. The plate lunches and gumbo sound perfect.
