Lafayette Parish Election Results: Winners and Runoffs |
Judicial, school board and municipal races deliver decisive wins while two contests move to December 12 |

Lafayette Parish election results from Tuesday’s voting produced outright winners in several judicial, school board, police chief and municipal council races, while two closely watched contests are headed to the December 12 runoff.
The local election-night report reflects unofficial results pending the canvass and promulgation process.
David Way won the 15th Judicial District Court Division I race with 54 percent of the vote, defeating “Will” Keaty II, who received 46 percent.
In the Division M judicial contest, Susan Theall finished with 69 percent against Dyan Schnaars at 31 percent.
The Lafayette City Court Division B race did not produce a majority winner.
James Klock led with 48 percent, Emilia Pardo received 36 percent and Ryan Harris finished with 16 percent.
Klock and Pardo are therefore positioned for the December 12 runoff.
School Board District 2 was decided without a runoff, with Robert “Ted” Davidson taking 54 percent over Stasia Herbert-McZeal at 46 percent.
Carencro’s mayoral race also advances to a runoff.
Charlotte Stemmans Clavier led the three-candidate field with 39 percent, followed by Eric Knight with 35 percent and “Don” Chauvin with 26 percent.
In two police chief races, the leaders crossed the majority threshold by narrow margins.
Caleb Lege’ won the Scott police chief contest with 51 percent to Kert Thomas’ 49 percent.
Jean Paul “JP” Broussard also received 51 percent in Youngsville, ahead of “Art” LeBreton Jr. at 28 percent and John Melvin Trahan Jr. at 21 percent.
Scott voters delivered decisive results in District 1, where Jakob Goodwin received 82 percent, and a closer decision in District 2, where Terry Montoucet finished with 52 percent.
Scott’s District 4 council race was the night’s tightest local contest.
Allyson Soeseno Richard received 383 votes, edging Bob Boudreaux’s 376 by only seven votes.
In Youngsville, “Lindy” Bolgiano won the Division B council seat with 69 percent, while “Nick” Niland won Division D with 63 percent.
Broussard Council District 1 went to “Angel” Racca with 53 percent, and “Trey” Smith won District 2 with 66 percent.
The five Duson alderman positions and five Carencro council seats were also included in the local results.
Because those are multi-seat races and rounded percentages can hide small vote differences, readers should use the official Louisiana election results portal for complete vote totals and final ordering.
Anyone following a runoff race should mark Saturday, December 12, for Louisiana’s general election.
The Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court election page lists the local schedule and contacts, while the Louisiana Secretary of State Voter Portal provides statewide election information.
The clearest takeaway is a mix of decisive wins and two unfinished races that will keep Lafayette-area voters engaged through December. |
