Outdoor Yoga Class at Moncus Park |
A free yoga event welcoming first-time and beginner yoga class participants alike |

Midweek just got a whole lot more meaningful for Lafayette.
Every Wednesday evening, Moncus Park opens its green space to anyone ready to slow down, breathe deep, and move with intention — no experience required.
The outdoor yoga class runs from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the First Horizon Amphitheater, tucked inside the beloved 100-acre park at 2913 Johnston Street.
Instructor Kayla Duhon leads each session, creating a welcoming space where seasoned practitioners and total beginners share the same mat-friendly ground.
That kind of open-door approach is rare — and it's exactly what makes this free yoga event stand out in a season already packed with community programming.
Part of the park's Fit for All wellness series, the class is designed to promote movement and well-being across every fitness level.
No registration, no cost, no barriers — just show up with a mat and comfortable clothes.
For anyone exploring a beginner yoga class for the very first time, the outdoor setting adds a natural layer of calm that no studio wall can replicate.
Surrounded by mature oaks and open sky, the amphitheater stage sets a scene that feels less like a workout and more like a reset.
Moncus Park draws roughly half a million visitors annually, and its free summer programming has become a cornerstone of community life in Acadiana.
Wednesday, July 29, 2026 is the next opportunity to join what locals are quickly making a weekly ritual. |
