Ragin’ Cajuns Water Ski Team Wins Seventh Straight National Title |
UL Lafayette’s club team extended a remarkable championship run in California and claimed its 13th national crown. |

The Ragin’ Cajuns Water Ski Team has done it again.
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette club team captured its seventh consecutive national championship at the 2026 National Collegiate Water Ski Association tournament, held October 15–17 in Rio Linda, California.
The victory gives UL Lafayette 13 national titles overall and keeps alive an unbeaten championship run that began in 2019.
Collegiate water skiing combines individual performances across slalom, trick skiing and jumping, with each result contributing to the team total.
That format rewards depth as much as star power, and the Cajuns once again showed why their program has become the standard nationally.
Among the weekend’s standout performances, Alana Jones won the women’s slalom title for Louisiana.
Her result helped anchor a roster that had to perform consistently across multiple events and changing conditions over three days of competition.
Although the team competes as a university club sport rather than an NCAA program, its preparation and national reach are anything but casual.
Student-athletes balance travel, training, equipment work, fundraising and academics while representing Lafayette against top collegiate teams from around the country.
Seven straight titles are especially striking in a sport where weather, water conditions and one missed pass can reshape the standings.
The streak reflects both the current roster’s talent and a culture that has continued from one graduating class to the next.
For Lafayette, the championship is another reason to celebrate a team carrying the Ragin’ Cajuns name well beyond Louisiana.
With 13 trophies now in the program’s history, the latest win adds another chapter to one of the university’s most sustained runs of national success.
