Lafayette’s November 3–8 forecast starts warm and unsettled before turning cooler, brighter and much more comfortable for the weekend.

Tuesday brings the week’s best chance for disruptive weather, with a 40% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms and a high near 82 degrees.

Rain chances rise to about 60% Tuesday night, when another round of showers or a thunderstorm could move through before temperatures settle into the mid-60s.

Wednesday marks the change.

An early shower remains possible, but clouds should gradually break, humidity will ease and the high should reach the upper 70s before a cooler night near 55.

Thursday looks like the week’s best outdoor day, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 80, although another 40% rain chance develops late Thursday night.

Friday may begin with a few showers or thunderstorms, then turn partly sunny with a high near 77 and a low near 54.

The weekend brings the most noticeable taste of fall.

Saturday should be partly sunny with a small afternoon shower chance, a high near 73 and a nighttime low close to 49.

Sunday stays mostly sunny despite a slight shower chance, with a high near 69 before temperatures fall into the mid-40s Sunday night.

Keep an umbrella nearby Tuesday and early Friday, but jackets may be more useful for evening events by the weekend.

Before making outdoor plans, check the National Weather Service Lafayette forecast, monitor the Lake Charles weather radar and review official thunderstorm safety guidance.

The forecast can still shift, especially around Tuesday night and the late-week rain window, so check again before heading out.

Tuesday night is the part I’ll be watching. At least the weekend looks much better.

Glad the cooler air is finally showing up. Sunday morning sounds perfect for getting outside.
