UL Lafayette Percussion Ensemble Takes the Stage November 5 |
The free Angelle Hall concert spans marimba, steel band and contemporary percussion |

The UL Percussion Ensemble performs a free concert Thursday, November 5, at 7 p.m. in Angelle Hall.
The program moves across a wide percussion palette, from ensemble classics and contemporary works to Mexican marimba favorites and steel-band rhythms.
That variety makes the concert approachable for longtime music fans, students and anyone curious about how much color can come from instruments usually grouped under the word “drums.”
Admission is free, so it is an easy weeknight arts outing on the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus.
Confirm the listing through the university calendar, and explore the season at the School of Music event page.
Arrive a little early for parking and a good seat before the first downbeat.

I love that this concert is free and includes such a wide mix of percussion styles. The marimba and steel-band pieces should be great.
